The ocean water has been glorious lately at the height of California summer, the perfect time to savor surf, sun and fun, .Like so many people, I earn much of my living while sitting at a desk. It's an effort sometimes to get out and exercise, although I try to do so everyday.
As a kid, I had never heard the term comfort food, but I admit to having indulged in ice cream occasionally to make me feel better. Now I try to get by with just a bit of dark chocolate.

When I think about it objectively, no pint of Ben and Jerry's has ever given me as much joy as a soothing salt water swim where I get to work every muscle of my body and relax by floating like a bird in a buoyant medium. It should be a daily summer ritual.
Mirrors don't lie. Neither do honest photos. Looking at this shot I see my weight loss of the last few months, but realize that I can still lose a few pounds. In this I am hardly alone. This month's Reverse Aging News features a recent study looking at obesity, a national problem that will cost us billions in wasted medical dollars. It's a vital concern as the Obama Administration presses for comprehensive health care reform.
If you find that you need to lose weight, have a friend snap a photo of you and put it on your refrigerator door. Take a look before reaching for a snack and you might choose fat free fruit before cheese. Of all of the menthods of age reversal explored in the anti-aging documentary "Reverse Aging Now", the one that consistently works the best with every species is calorie restriction.
